The most important aspect of counselling is the relationship. Finding the right counsellor where you feel safe and comfortable enough to explore thoughts and feelings that you may have kept hidden, even from yourself, is integral for a positive experience.
I am an integrative counsellor with a client-centred approach, viewing all my clients as unique and individual. I utilise the skills I have learnt to help you work towards positive changes in your life.
Whether it's exploring how past patterns affect your present choices, or working to shift those patterns in the here and now, I follow your pace. You are the expert and the guide.
My practice is shaped by working affirmatively and holistically with individuals of all backgrounds. I don't assume anything needs fixing - only exploring to uncover better outcomes.
Having spent my life living in the LGBTQ+ community and struggling with my own mental health, I went back to education studying and exploring my own journey and as a result I now identify as neurodivergent and queer. These are the words I choose to describe myself; you are free to use any language that feels comfortable for you.
Whilst working and volunteering in peer support, mentoring and counselling I felt I wanted to create a space where people were free to bring all of themselves, using the language they want to and get the support that is tailored to their individual needs. Focusing on queer and neurodiverse needs but being accessible for all.
When I'm not in my counselling room, my 2 cockapoos, Button and Bow keep me on my toes.
Yes! While "queer" is used here as a form of reclaimed language and this is a space centred around LGBTQ+ folk, it is also inclusive. We welcome enquiries from anyone seeking a positive and affirming counselling experience.
